W824 Midi Lathe: The midi sized lathe continues to be the best seller. It is a size which can accomplish most of the projects turners are likely to try and is the largest lathe which can comfortably be moved off the bench when not in use.

The bed of the lathe is one-piece precision ground cast iron giving 14″ between centres when working with our heavy duty centres, which are supplied as standard.

Setting the correct spindle speed is quickly achieved with the turn of a dial and referring to the backlit digital read out.  When starting off with a large unbalanced bowl it is important to slow the speed down and the W824 has a low speed of 500rpm.

The tool rest banjo is a cam-lock design for rapid adjustments. The tool rest itself is our ever popular round bar made from hardened steel.

The headstock spindle is hollow to allow centres to be easily knocked out. The tailstock quill is also hollow to allow long hole boring and has automatic centre removal when winding the quill back to the zero position.

To allow for creative decorations to be applied or piercings to be made, the headstock spindle has a 24 position indexing system, which allows the spindle to be locked in 15 degree intervals around a rotation.

Supplied with drive and tail centres 2MT, knockout bar, 6″ toolrest with 5/8″ shank, 3″ diameter faceplate, onboard tool holder, carrying handles, cable tidy, 1.9m power cable and 3 pin UK plug.

Viper2 Scroll Chuck: A compact scroll chuck, with the jaws adjusted by a geared mechanism for simple one handed operation. Self centring, high precision design. Ideal for Mini and Midi sized lathes.

The standard dovetail jaws can grip the work piece both internally or externally depending on the style and shape of the piece to be turned.
The chuck fits directly onto the W824 lathe.

We also include a wood screw which clamps into the centre of the chuck for the initial mounting of bowl blanks.

Supplied with dovetail jaws, wood screw, T-bar for locking the jaws, T-handled hex key for swapping the jaws.
