The large mandrel is designed to be held in a 4 jaw scroll chuck mounted onto a lathe. It is 25mm in diameter at its widest part, stepped to 18mm with an undercut for smaller chucks. Fits into the standard jaws on most chucks (in the same way as the wood screw).
The other end of the mandrel is fitted with a threaded hole and is compatible with all Chestnut buffing wheels and dome buffs.
Buffs can quickly be unscrewed and swapped out to work different compounds.
