Charnwood VIPER3RCOM Companion Chuck for Viper3R Without Jaws

This is the body of our best selling Viper3R scroll chuck, sold here without any jaws, screws or tools.

You can add any of our Viper3 Jaws and a set of screws to complete it or use additional jaws you already own.

A 4″ sized scroll chuck, with the jaws adjusted by a geared mechanism for simple one handed operation. Self centring, high precision design. Ideal for Midi sized lathes and upwards. The fully enclosed design prevents the build up of chips and dust inside the gear mechanism.

The chuck fits directly onto lathes with headstock thread size M33x3.5. for all other sizes an optional insert is required.

We have an extensive range of optional jaws and accessories available for the Viper range of chucks.

The locking screws allow the chuck to be locked onto the lathe spindle, providing the lathe conforms to DIN800 standard or Jet Type T38 design. A 3mm Hex key is required (not included). Reverse direction should only be used when the chuck is mounted directly onto an M33 x 3.5 spindle thread. It should not be used in reverse when using a thread adapter.

What is The difference between Viper3R and Nexus3R?

The only difference between our 2 chucks is the position of the jaw mounting holes and the pattern on the underside of the jaw. The reason we offer the 2 is to have compatibility with other brands of chucks on the market. If you are buying a second chuck, it makes sense to have one which is compatible with any jaws & accessories you already own. If it is your first chuck: it really makes no difference which model you select.
