Charnwood BS690 Oscillating Belt Sander 6″ x 90″ Capacity

Part of the Charnwood PRO series, this belt sander has automated oscillation which improves results by giving a scratch free finish. Behind the sanding belt is a graphite anti-friction plate which provides a firm surface to push against without any danger of stalling the belt.  Ample power is provided by a 3hp motor.

The belt can be used in the vertical position with the cast iron work table providing a perfect 90 degree finish. The work table is height adjustable, using a hand wheel, to allow the full height of the belt to be used even when working with thin materials. In this way the entire belt is used, lowering running costs.  The work table is equipped with an adjustable mitre guide which locks into a T-slot for finishing angled pieces. It can be set at 90 degrees or anywhere in a swing of 120 degrees.

When sanding with the belt in the horizontal position a parallel guide fence fixes to the main table and can be set anywhere across the width of the belt.

The driven end of the sanding belt is well enclosed with a dust hood incorporating a 100mm diameter outlet to connect an extraction hose to. When sanding curved pieces, the dust hood swings away and a second cast iron table is fitted to allow sanding around the diameter of the drum.

The floor stand is a one-piece welded steel cabinet. an access door provides a storage cupboard to keep spare belts at hand.

Supplied with 80G abrasive belt, end stop, mitre guide, 4 adjustable feet, 2.0m power cable, industrial 16amp plug.

A 16 amp fixed electric supply is required to run this machine. We also recommend using a 16amp Type C breaker.
