Established by Joe & Miriam McKenna in 1979, Joe McKenna’s was initially a one-man tool selling company.

Our very first retail premises, located on Parnell St in Limerick, is the same site as the one that is in use today.

While our location may not have changed, the organisation itself has undergone dramatic change and growth since its inception.

Possibly the most important feature of our business throughout our existence, has been the quality of our staff. We strive to find the optimal mix between an experienced sales staff and the enthusiasm of youth. All of our staff are here to help you, and all are eager to learn and to grow with this evolving organisation.

Our core business has always been the supply of top-branded hand and power tools, both for craftsmen and for home owners who are eager to get involved in DIY.

Since the opening of our new store in May of 2004, we have been able to expand our ranges and variety of products.

Our range of hand tools is the largest in the country. We carry all the top brands in quality power tools, including the latest addition to our stock – Festool. Our machinery showroom is filled with impressive equipment for woodworking, woodturning and educational use.

We also supply safety equipment and clothing, and we provide an extensive range of hardware, nuts, bolts, screws and fixings to suit all jobs.
