This mortiser is capable of a 1″ mortice in softwood and with an extended timber capacity of 8″ in height is large enough for most workshops. Cast iron construction is used throughout with a gas filled spring to support the weight of the head.

A chisel depth stop controls the bottom depth of the mortice cut whilst a second stop limits the return travel of the head, saving time when working in smaller timber. Operator comfort is ensured with our new multi-position handle design, which allows the operator to set the main handle at the most convenient angle, regardless of the position of the head.

When machining a batch of components time is saved by using the production stops fitted to the machine as standard. End stops are fitted to the left and right table movement along with a timber positioning stop on the right hand side of the table..

All of the dovetail slides on the moving cast iron parts of this machine have an adjustable steel strip, to allow adjustment for any wear during the life of this machine.

Supplied with 4 chisel bushes for using both foreign 3/4″ and 1-1/8″ or British 13/16″ and 1-3/16″ chisels, NVR switch, screw thread work clamp, 1/2″ chisel (from our hobby range), floorstand, cable and plug.

Specification

We offer two ranges of chisels. The hobby range, MCC type, are low cost and completely adequate for occasional users. The professional range, MCT type, are made to a greater degree of precision and from a harder material and therefore give a longer life. We recommend only these for all professional or trade users.
