Charnwood BBSG Bandsaw Scroll Guide System For B300 & B350

The Bandsaw is one of the most flexible cutting machines in any workshop, with the ability to cross, rip, mitre, compound mitre and curve cut timber of varying depths.

When used with a bandsaw blade of 3mm width, the Scroll Guide System enhances your creativity, by allowing you to make tight radius cuts in material of greater depth than can be accommodated by a scroll saw.

Because the 3mm blade is not reciprocating, the blade presses the workpiece onto the machine table, leading to greater workpiece stability and a safer working condition.

The set comprises of two special grooved bearings to be mounted as replacements for the standard rear blade guide bearings on both top and bottom guide supports.
The 3mm blade should be fitted so it runs in the groove but with an air gap at the rear on both upper and lower guide bearings.

The upper bearing is supplied with a mounting shaft, making it very quick to install. (Lower bearing does not require a mounting shaft)

PLEASE NOTE : The side bearings are not used when using the 3mm blade and should be moved to the side.

Tensioning is made as normal but be careful not to over tighten.

When using a 3mm bandsaw blade the cross section of the weld is much smaller than on other blades, so more care must be taken.

It is essential to allow the blade to do its work in its own time.  Forcing the speed of the cut or over stressing the blade by excess twisting, can result in damage to the work piece, blade, machine or yourself.
